My Awakening Journey – Part 2
By Jon Anderson
The process of awakening is unique to each person. In this three-part series, I will walk through my own experiences in the hope that they provide some perspective to help you on your journey.
“In the simplest terms, my definition of awakening is as follows: to become aware that you are part of an infinite, universal existence of love. ”
The ramifications of this realization are nothing short of a polar shift in our understanding of ourselves. The process of awakening can be beautiful, overwhelming, lonely, and even distressing at first. There are a handful of awakening support groups on Facebook and many videos on YouTube that support people coming to grips with their own awakening journeys.
“This is amazing, but will anyone believe me?”
My hypnosis sessions with healer Autumn Joy are so fantastical that they may be hard to believe—and I’ve come to realize that’s okay. When people have amazing experiences with no shred of proof, it’s understandable for others to look for plausible alternative explanations.
Immediately after my sessions with Autumn, I unleashed a tidal wave of information upon my unsuspecting friends. In fact, some of these were “the longest texts ever written,” according to one of my good pals. When you have paradigm-shifting experiences, you want to share them.
A big challenge of the awakening journey is that, while friends and family may patiently listen to you, they often have no idea what you’re talking about. Eventually, I defaulted to saying, “I’m your friend. You know me. I don’t need you to believe me, but please know I would never lie to you.”
We all need validation, and when we don’t get it from those closest to us, we can feel lost. If you’re in the middle of your awakening journey and feeling lonely, I highly recommend reaching out to people in your community, such as energy healers, or finding a group online. You are not alone. You are not crazy. You are just waking up.
Connecting to the 5th Dimension
As we tumble and spin in the vastness of space on this planet we call Earth, we experience time based on our gravitational relationship with the Sun. A day is 24 hours long, a year 365 days, and taxes are due on April 15th. Our sense of time would be different if we lived on Mars, for example, where the planet’s distance from the Sun changes its orbit.
We live in a world of three dimensions, and it’s widely believed that our experience of time constitutes the fourth dimension.
But what if we could break away from this structure and experience time differently? The good news is, we can. Many people call this the 5th Dimension, or 5D (and beyond). For centuries, shamans, spiritual healers, yogis, and now more everyday people have connected to this dimension through meditation, plant medicine, and hypnosis, among other modalities.
In this dimension, we can connect to universal consciousness, where all points of space and time are intertwined. Here, we can suspend ties to the earthly timeline and explore what’s out there. And let me tell you—there’s some fascinating stuff waiting to be discovered.
Hypnosis Session #1 – We’re Not in Idaho Anymore
While resting comfortably on Autumn’s couch with a fuzzy blanket, I followed her relaxation techniques and visualization guidance. Eventually, I experienced rising above my own body, surrounded by a golden light.
In my mind’s eye, I floated higher and higher, beyond Earth and through a sea of darkness. I was aware of both being on the couch and being in this "place." It felt normal and natural, like remembering the lyrics to an old song I used to sing.
As I continued to rise, the darkness gave way to colors: dreamy pinks, yellows, whites, and blues. It was like swimming in a sea of liquid color. The immense feeling of love was deeply comforting. Everyday concerns faded away in this peaceful, beautiful existence.
When the session ended, Autumn gently guided me back to the present. What felt like 20 minutes had lasted over an hour. Time is a funny thing in 5D.
Afterward, I went to bed at 5:30 PM and slept like a baby. The next day, I felt an incredible sense of peace and love. I was rhythmically floating through life, wanting to hug everyone I saw. Even the lady behind the counter at Les Schwab Tires looked at me suspiciously as I beamed at her with all the energy around me.
Hypnosis Session #2 – Things Get Weird
After a few weeks of acclimating to my newfound happiness and peace, I returned to Autumn’s office, excited for our next session. It took some time to relax and get into the right headspace, but soon we repeated the process and arrived back in 5D.
It’s important to note that a skilled hypnosis professional like Autumn functions as a facilitator and guide, allowing you to experience your own journey without telling you what to see.
From this 5D starting point, I floated backward on a cloud as a ball of light—back through time, before this life, before the person I now know as myself.
I found myself standing on a cobblestone surface. As I looked around, I saw a beautiful clipper sailing ship on a perfect day. The sky was blue, and seagulls flew by.
“What are you wearing?” Autumn asked, her voice seeming to come from far away.
I looked down to see tall black boots, pants tucked in, a vest, a pocket watch, a black jacket, and a tall black hat.
“Woooaaahhhh,” was all I could muster. Somehow, it all made sense—surprising yet familiar.
After describing the scene, Autumn asked if I could go to my house. In an instant, I was standing in front of it: a small, humble dwelling nestled into the hillside, with flower baskets under two windows and a chipped-paint front door.
Inside, I saw a simple, single room, an area where a child might have played, some furniture, and a woman wearing a cream-colored dress and bonnet. She was my wife, and she was happy to see me.
At that moment, a thought struck me like a thunderbolt. “It’s her! It’s her! It’s her!” I said over and over.
“Who?” Autumn asked.
“It’s Connie!” I replied in shocked disbelief.
Check back next week for final part of my awakening journey…
