About Artists: Marconi Union is an English ambient music band formed in Manchester in 2003 by Richard Talbot and Jamie Crossley. Initially a duo, they expanded to a trio in 2010 with the addition of keyboardist Duncan Meadows.
The band's music is characterized by a fusion of ambient, electronica, jazz, and dub elements, creating richly melodic and atmospheric soundscapes. Their self-produced debut album, Under Wires and Searchlights (2003), marked the beginning of their exploration into ambient music. Subsequent albums like Distance (2005) and A Lost Connection (2008) further developed their distinctive sound.
